Why is change so hard? It doesn’t matter what type of change it is, rather is getting fit, losing weight, or prioritizing tasks. It’s all just hard. Wrong! The reality is this – change is only hard because you decide it is. You likely based that assumption on some past experience with change. I think if you really look at why you say it’s hard you will realize that you did not fully embrace the change as possible. You didn’t commit to the change being worth it.
So, the truth is change is not hard! Yes, it’s different than what you like to do. It’s different than what you are used to doing. But if you commit to making the change, it will be easier, it will be doable. To commit is not to simply say, okay I’ll do it. To commit requires a change in mindset. It requires that you bring your mind and body into alignment to achieve the change. This is not done just once. It’s done on a continual basis. The war rages on and you must battle daily with that little voice making all the excuses for why the change is not worth the effort.
So, commit the change regularly. Write it down and re-visit it often. Remember this, if you want to summit new peaks, you must climb new paths. Commit to the change! Make the change! Go Pursue Hard Things!!
